A Celebration of Excellence within the School of Veterinary Medicine

It was a celebratory atmosphere on Friday, November 22, at the Bourne Lecture Hall in honor of the outstanding contributions made by faculty, staff, and students within the School of Veterinary Medicine. Forty-five different awards were presented to faculty and staff who demonstrated outstanding service and commitment to the veterinary school, and to students who demonstrated high levels of academic achievement, professionalism, and outstanding work ethic.

Dr. Christopher Pasquini, the evening’s host and a member of the Awards Committee, was joined by Dr. Raymond Sis, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine, as he welcomed an animated crowd, including partners from the Grenadian business community. A special tribute was also paid to Dr. Sis for 12 years of outstanding service to the School, its faculty, staff, and students. In paying tribute to Dr. Sis, students, faculty, staff, and alumni representatives presented him with a beautifully engraved glass sculpture.

One of the ceremony’s highlights was a slideshow presentation titled ‘A Look Back,’ during which Ashley Bredenberg, a student representative on the Awards Committee, captured memorable and humorous moments in the lives of students at St. George’s University, and throughout the island of Grenada.

As the night came to an end, closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Tara Paterson, Chair of the SVM Awards Committee, and heartfelt thanks expressed to sponsors for their generous support.
